Would I be right in saying designers need to have basic understanding and sometimes in-depth knowledge of material they’re delivering into. Like html/css. Swift ?
Great points about how simpler tools have a place and purpose as well as functioning as a gateway to pro tools.
Dabbling with the pro tools can also help hobbyists build fundamentals they can take back to the simpler tools. I’ve found knowing photoshop (enough to be dangerous) makes Pixelmator and Canva easier to use. It also gives me a lot more respect for the pros!
