I need to collect my thoughts on this, but I really enjoyed reading yours. I have to say though, my pea brain’s been stuck on this line, repeated over and over: “I think the iframe is making a comeback!”... I KNEW it would! 😝
Im always amazed on how Starship Troopers, predicted a future media environment.
They saw tv with these 15 second trailers that at the end just asked “would you like to know more?” So you could go into each item or continue the live curation
I remember Movable Type being the go-to tool for blogging. In some ways I miss those days of feeling like I had the Eye of Sauron and I never missed anything cool.
I have this thought about how the infinite canvas you mention will work with the layers you also mention. I’ve been hearing a handful of people saying stuff like “let’s double click on that” when speaking about things. I think I heard it first on the Farnam Street podcast. There’s no reason you can’t infinitely zoom into something, aside from capacity of humans to build it. With AI backing it up, soon everything can be double clicked.
Oh, and thanks for that link to the Evernote/Notion thing. As a recent convert from Evernote this helped with my grief process ;)
Beautiful writing about Wilson!
